Terms of use
Last updated: 22 October 2026. These terms are between you and The Open Apps, Inc. ("we"), which makes Hookletter. Contact: support@theopenapps.com.
1. What Hookletter does
Hookletter keeps the songs you make with an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Grok Bot), turns your lyrics into music with an AI music model from ElevenLabs, and gives you a private page to listen, download and send each song. Songs are AI-generated. Making music uses a daily allowance; when the day's song studio is full, your song stays saved and you can make the next one later.
2. Who can use it
Hookletter is for adults: you must be 18 or over to use it. Until launch, making music is open to invited testers with an access code; everyone can start songs and write lyrics.
3. Your words and your songs
You keep the rights you have in the lyrics you write. Subject to these terms and the music terms below, you may use the songs you make for any personal or commercial purpose, including giving them as gifts, posting them online and releasing them through a distributor, except as listed in section 4. You give us a licence to store, process and show your songs only to run Hookletter for you.
4. Music terms passed on from ElevenLabs
Hookletter's music is made with ElevenLabs' Music Service, and ElevenLabs requires us to pass these rules on to you. By accepting them in the card or on your song page, you agree that you will not:
- Imitate artists. Ask for, make or use a song that copies or mimics the voice, likeness or identifiable style of any recording artist, living or dead, in a way likely to mislead or imply association or endorsement. Requests like "in the style of
" are turned into genre, era and instruments instead. - Use other people's work. Put artist names, band names, song titles, existing lyrics or other copyrighted material in your lyrics or prompts, or make or use songs you know or should know infringe anyone's rights.
- Make harmful songs. Make songs that incite violence, promote hate, sexualise or exploit minors, are obscene, harass someone, or are otherwise unlawful.
- Use songs in film, TV, radio or games. The music licence covers all online and offline uses except film, television, radio and studio games.
- Build a music library or resell the model. Compile songs into a library for others to license or download, or offer the music model or access to it to anyone else.
- Hide that it is AI. Remove or misstate the AI disclosure where a platform asks for it. If you release a song on a streaming service, you follow that platform's rules on AI-generated content, including labels and credits, and you release it under your own name rather than a made-up AI artist.
- Upload voices. Hookletter doesn't take voice uploads; don't try to make a song in a specific real person's voice.
We may refuse or remove a song that breaks these rules, and ElevenLabs may suspend the music service for such use.
5. Releasing to Spotify and other services
Each finished song comes with a free release kit (audio, cover, metadata, AI credits and instructions) for a distributor of your choice. We are not a distributor and don't upload anything for you unless you use the release service on our website, which works with a distribution partner under that partner's own terms and prices. You release under your own name, and you are responsible for following the distributor's and the streaming service's rules. We make no promise about streams, playlists or income.
6. Sending songs
A share link opens one version of your song for anyone who has it. You decide who gets it. Hookletter never sends messages to anyone.
7. No warranty
Hookletter is provided "as is". AI music can be unpredictable: a song may not sound the way you imagined, pronounce a name perfectly, or be available every day. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited.
8. Ending
You can stop at any time and delete your songs from the chat. We may stop offering Hookletter or suspend use that breaks these terms.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
